※아래 설교는, 오늘날 설교가, 참 설교라는 ‘증거’로서의

능력과 표적을 잃어버렸다고 지적합니다.

물론 표적을 추구하고, 표적을 목표로 달려가는 것은.. 열광주의입니다.

그러나 참 설교라면.. 어떤 “표적이 자연스럽게 나타나야 한다”는

설교자 월커슨 목사님의 주장은, 맞는 말입니다.

 

표적을 일부러, 고의적으로 추구할 필요는 없지만,

표적은 자연스럽게 동반되게 되어 있습니다.

오늘날 나는 어떠합니까?

 

 

◑1. 마지막 때는, 강력한 교회가 나타나리라고, 다니엘서에 예언되어 있다.

 

▲나는 여러분과 하나님의 마지막 시대의 교회를 위한 하나님의 비전이 무엇인지

나누고 싶습니다. 그것은 드러난 하나님의 말씀에 근거한 비전입니다.

예수님의 재림 직전에 그리스도의 교회가 어떠할 것인지

성경이 명확하게 그 윤곽을 드러내고 있기 때문입니다.

 

분명히 미국교회는 하나님께서 계획하신 것과는 거리가 멉니다.

사실 오늘날 그리스도의 이름으로 행해지고 있는 것들의 대부분은 가증스러운 것들입니다.

 

그러나 미국 전역과 전세계에는 하나님의 거룩한 기준에 맞게 살아가는

남은 교회들이 흩어져 있습니다. 그 교회들은 거룩한 삶을 인도하며,

의를 설교하고 초자연적인 역사를 믿습니다.

 

이러한 교회들은 살아있으며, 하나님의 성령으로 충만하고

예수님을 위한 강한 영향을 주는 생명체이며 완전한 공동체입니다.

 

▲그러나 오늘날 모든 종파들은 대부분 성령 없이 운영되고 있습니다.

그들에게는 예수님의 임재가 없으며 모든 영적인 은사들을 잃어버렸습니다.

그들은 능력, 회개 또는 구원의 메시지가 없는 일종의 종교예식을 수행할 뿐입니다.

그들은 세상과 편안하며 영적이기 보다는 정치적입니다. 그들은 죄를 달랩니다.

즉 동성연애를 방관하며 이혼을 간과하고 초자연적인 것을 비웃으며

천국, 지옥, 회개 그리고 심판에 관한 모든 가르침을 내던집니다.

 

그런 교회들은 심지어 하나님이 살아계신지 의아해 합니다.

그 교회들은 너무 차갑고, 약하고 겁이 많아서 세상이 그 교회들을 조롱합니다.

그 교회에는 영향력, 존경, 사회에 대한 영향 등 아무 것도 없습니다.

 

▲그러나 신약의 교회는 사단을 떨게 만들었습니다!

그 교회는 사단의 군대를 지옥으로 몰아냈으며

기도로 감옥의 문을 열고 통치자들로 하여금 두려움에 떨게 했습니다.

어떠한 무기도 그 교회에 대항해서 대항할 수 없었습니다!

 

초기 신자들은 그러한 믿음과 능력을 갖고 있어서

저는 자들이 일어나 뛰고 거지들이 전도자가 되었습니다.

그들은 초자연적인 것을 믿었습니다. 그리고 그들은 보지 못하는 눈을 뜨게하였고

듣지 못하는 귀를 열었고 모든 종류의 질병을 고쳤습니다.

그들은 심지어 죽은 자들을 일으켰습니다!

 

▲나는 하나님의 마지막 시대의 교회가

1세기 교회의 복사본이나 반복판이 되리라고 이야기하는 것이 아닙니다.

나는 마지막 시대의 교회가 초대교회보다 훨씬 더 강력할 것이라고 말하고 있는 것입니다!

 

마지막 시대의 교회는 훨씬 더 강력한 예수님의 나타나심과 더불어

더 힘 있고 더 강할 것입니다.

그 어느 때보다 성령으로부터의 기름부으심이 클 것입니다.

오순절보다도 더 강력할 것입니다!

하나님은 항상 마지막을 위해서 가장 좋은 포도주를 아끼십니다.

 

▲다니엘 선지자는 이것을 확인해 줍니다.

그는 어떤 예언적 진실이 잠기워져 있으며

마지막 시대에만 그것이 드러날 것이라고 했습니다.

 

“......대저 이 말은 마지막 때까지 간수하고 봉함할 것임이니라. ......

악한 자는 아무도 깨닫지 못하되, 오직 지혜있는 자는 깨달으리라.” 단12:9-10

 

하나님의 백성은, 자기 세상에서 새로운 일들을 이해하기 시작할 것입니다!

이 일들은 이미 성경에 있습니다. 그것들은 단지 완전히 드러나지 않았을 뿐입니다.

그리고 다니엘은 자신이 이것들을 보았으나, 그의 모든 하나님이 주신 신령한 지혜를

가지고도 이해할 수 없었다고 말했습니다. "내가 듣고도 깨닫지 못하니라...."(8절)

그러나 오늘날 성령은 이러한 것들을 영적이고 분별력 있는 성도들에게 드러내시고 계십니다!

 

기록된바 하나님이 자기를 사랑하는 자들을 위하여 예비하신 모든 것은 눈으로

보지 못하고 귀로도 듣지 못하고 사람의 마음으로도 생각지 못하였다 함과 같으니라.

오직 하나님이 성령으로 이것을 우리에게 보이셨으니 성령은 모든 것

곧 하나님의 깊은 것이라도 통달하시느니라 (고전2:9-10)

 

▲성령은 우리에게 이 감춰진 것들을 드러내시기 위해서 우리 안에 거하고 계십니다.

바로 지금 주님은 주님의 마음을 따라 강력한 그러나 겸손한

그리스도의 군대를 준비시키고 계십니다.

그리고 그는 또한 현대적인 교회를 세운, 말씀에 갈급한 ‘남은 자’들을 준비시키고 계십니다.

 

지옥의 문이 결코 이기지 못하는 교회를 위한 무대가, 지금 설치되고 있습니다.

그 교회는 뜨겁고, 미지근하지 않을 것입니다.

그리고 지옥의 기초를 흔들어 놓을 것입니다.

지상의 어떤 권력도 그것을 무시하거나 경멸하지 못할 것입니다.

 

아래에, 나 Wilkerson이, 마지막 시대의 남은 교회를 위한

하나님의 비전이라고 생각하는 말씀은 다음과 같습니다.

 

 

◑2. 다시 한 번 복음이 완전히 선포될(fully preached) 것입니다.

 

여러분은 나의 다음 말을 받아들이고 싶지 않을 지도 모릅니다.

그러나 내가 보았듯이 예수 그리스도의 복음은

아직 이 세대에 "완전히 선포되지"(fully preached) 않았습니다!

 

몇몇 하나님의 남종과 여종의 사역을 제외하고 오늘날 우리가 듣는 복음은

바울이 이야기한 "완전히 선포된"(fully preached) 복음은 아닙니다.

 

바울은 자신의 세대에 이야기 할 수 있었습니다.

"......내가 그리스도의 복음을 편만하게 전하였노라 fully preached" 롬15:19

 

그리고 그는 완전히 선포된 복음을, 말보다 훨씬 이상 가는 것으로 묘사했습니다.

그것은 선포하는 말에, 능력이 뒤따르는 복음입니다!

 

그리스도께서 이방인들을 순종케 하기 위하여 나로 말미암아 말과 일이며

표적과 기사의 능력이며 성령의 능력으로 역사하신 것 외에는

내가 감히 말하지 아니하노라. 롬15:18

 

바울은 말했습니다. "이방인들은 단지 나의 선포함 때문이 아니라

나의 말이 기적적인 행위들을 수반하였기 때문에 그리스도께로 돌아섰다!"

 

이 일로 인하여 내가 예루살렘으로부터 두루 행하여 일루리곤까지

그리스도의 복음을 편만하게 전하였노라. 롬15:19

 

▲만약 바울이 자신의 말을 따르는 기사와 표적없이 전하고 가르쳤다면

그의 메시지는 온전한 영향력을 발휘하지 못했을 것입니다.

그랬다면 그것은 완전히 선포된 복음이 아니었을 것입니다!

그는 고린도인들에게 이렇게 말했습니다.

 

(내가) 사도의 표된 것은 내가 너희 가운데서 모든 참음과

표적과 기사와 능력을 행한 것이라. 고후12:12

 

이 구절에서 바울의 말을 주의해 보십시오.

표적, 기사, 능력 오늘날 대부분의 크리스챤들은 이러한 말을 들을 때 겁을 냅니다.

왜 그렇습니까? 그것은 이러한 말들이 사악한, 능력에 주려있는 설교자들과

교사들에 의해 가증스러운 것으로 변했기 때문입니다!

 

▲지난 40년 동안 우리는 완전히 선포된 복음의 통탈할만한 왜곡을 보아왔습니다.

많은 지혜 있는, 그리스도를 사랑하는 믿는 이들이 충격을 받거나 억울함을 당했습니다.

그들을 거짓 선지자들이, 초자연적인 역사를 조롱하고 악용했기 때문입니다.

이러한 거짓말장이들은 완전히 선포된 복음을

자존심과 개인적인 이익을 위한 활동으로 바꾸어 버렸습니다.

 

여러분은 그것들이 TV와 신문에서 저주를 받는 것을 봅니다. 여러분은 행상주의,

연출법, 거짓 치유, 확증되지 않은 주장, 돈을 쫓는 것, 과장 등을 봅니다.

모든 것이 하나님의 눈에 가증스러운 것입니다.

그것은 교회사 가운데 가장 부끄러운 에피소드중 하나가 되어왔습니다.

 

그러나 이러한 왜곡들이 충분하지 않다는 듯이 "성공의 복음"이 따라왔습니다.

이것은 그 왜곡을 가중시켰습니다. 기본적으로 그리스도를 받아들인다는 것은

"복권에 당첨된다"는 것을 의미하게 되었습니다! 그것은 부유하게 된다는 약속,

자동차, 옷, 땅, 집을 갖게 된다는 것을 의미했습니다.

 

무엇보다 가장 비극적인 것은

이러한 왜곡들이 많은 하나님을 두려워하는 목사들과 전도사들과 평신도들을

완전히 선포된 복음의 진리로부터 돌아서게 만들었다는 것입니다.

그들은 표적과 기사, 기적 등과는 전혀 관계없는 것을 원합니다.

 

그러나 여러분, 하나님은 여전히 하나님이십니다.

그리고 그분은 기사와 표적을 행하시는데 능하십니다!

그분은 여전히 우리의 치료자이십니다.

그리고 그분은 자기를 신뢰하는 사람들을 위해서 강하게 자신을 드러내시기를 원하십니다.

 

위대한 초자연적인 역사가 신약의 교회에서는 아무 왜곡없이 일어났습니다.

광고나 쇼맨쉽, 혹은 모든 능력이나 권위를 주장하는 사람 하나 없이 말입니다.

 

▲이 바울의 사역은 본보기를 제공합니다.

드로아에서 바울은 너무 긴 설교를 해서 유두고라는 한 젊은이가

창문 문지방에 앉아있다가 잠이 들었습니다. 그 소년은 3층에서 땅으로 떨어졌습니다.

그리고 성경은 유두고가 죽은채 들려졌다고 말하고 있습니다. 행20장.

 

바울이 아래에 도착했을 때 그는 모든 사람을 조용히 시켰습니다.

그리고 그는 엘리야가 했던 것처럼 행했습니다.

그는 죽은 젊은이의 몸위로 자신의 몸을 뻗쳤습니다.

갑자기 유두고에게 생기가 돌았습니다. 그 젊은이는 부활했습니다.

죽음에서 일어났습니다. 얼마나 능력있는 기적입니까!

 

이러한 일이 있은 후 바울은 기적이 일어났다는 소식을 전하기 위해

아무도 내보내지 않았습니다. 그는 유두고를 그의 전도여행에 동행하여

자신의 부활을 증거하도록 초청하지 않았습니다.

"건물에서 떨어져 죽었던 젊은이를 보라. 하나님은 그를 죽음에서 살리셨습니다!

위대한 믿음과 능력의 사람, 바울의 설교를 들으십시오"라는 팜플렛도 없었습니다.

 

아니 그 일은 일어나지 조차 않은 것 같았습니다.

대신에 모든 사람이 단지 3층에 다시 올라가서 성찬식을 갖고 바울은 계속해서 설교를 했습니다.

성경은 유두고를 더 이상 언급하지도 않습니다. 왜일까요?

교회에서 초자연적인 역사가 일어나는 것은, 당연한 일상적 일이었기 때문입니다!

 

▲초대교회는 “완전한 복음”을 선포했습니다. 그리고 그 복음에는 표적과 기사가 따랐습니다.

이 강력한 역사가 성도들 가운데 일어났습니다. 그리고 아무도 그 영광을 취하지 않았습니다.

이 위대한 역사는 "특별한 기적(special miracles, 희한한 능)"이라고 불리기도 했습니다.

 

하나님이 바울의 손으로 “희한한 능”을 행하게 하시니

심지어 사람들이 바울의 몸에서 손수건이나 앞치마를 가져다가 병든 사람에게

얹으면 그 병이 떠나고 악귀도 나가더라. 행19:11-12

 

이 "특별한 기적(special miracles, 희한한 능)"은

당시 신자들의 일상생활과 예배에서 기대되는 한 부분이 되었습니다.

그들은 그러한 기적이 일어나는 것을 보기 위해서

팡파르가 울리는 거대한 집회에 참여하지 않아도 되었습니다.

아니 그들은 이 능력의 역사를 주님과 동행하는 매일의 삶의 한 부분으로 보았습니다.

 

여기에 제가 말하고자 하는 바가 있습니다.

만약 선포(preaching)만으로 하나님의 열망을 채울 수 있다면

미국은 오래 전에 그리스도께 속하였을 것입니다.

(그러나 설교만으로.. 보시다시피 아무 일도 일어나지 않았습니다.)

 

에베소에서 3개월간의 대담한 선포(즉 설교)이후에

어떤 일이 일어났는지 생각해 보십시오.

 

어떤 사람들은 마음이 굳어 순종치 않고 무리 앞에서 이 도를 비방하거늘 ... (9절)

 

에베소는 불경하고, 우상숭배가 많은 마술에 빠져든 도시였습니다.

사람들은 마술책과 주술, 묘기, 마법에 사로잡혀 있었습니다.

그리고 바울이 3개월간 용감히 선포한 후 그들은 더욱 더 굳어졌습니다.

 

그러나 그때 하나님은 바울의 손을 통하여 특별한 기적을 행하기 시작하셨습니다.

갑자기 아픈자가 고침을 받았고 저는 자가 건강한 다리를 갖게 되었으며

눈먼 자의 시력이 회복되었습니다!

 

※바울이 이런 표적들을 목표로 고의적으로 추구한 것이 아니라,

그냥 이런 표적들이, 자연스럽게 동반되었습니다.

 

그때가 에베소의 사단의 권세가 물러나기 시작한 때입니다.

스게와라고 하는 제사장의 일곱 아들은 어떤 사람의 집에 가서

"바울이 선포한 예수 그리스도의 이름으로" 그에게서 악귀를 쫓아내고자 했습니다.

 

그러나 이 사람의 안에 있던 군대는 그들을 대항하여 공격했습니다.

그들의 옷을 찢고 격렬하게 그들을 쳤습니다.

그들은 발가벗은채 소리지르며 목숨을 부지하기위해 도망쳤습니다!

 

이 말이 전 도시에 퍼졌습니다.

"...다 이 일을 알고 두려워하며 주 예수의 이름을 높이고"(17절).

사람들은 "이 예수를 따르는 자들은 사단의 능력보다 뛰어난 권세를 갖고있다!"고 소리쳤습니다.

그래서 바울은 도시의 광장에서 큰 불을 놓았습니다.

 

또 마술을 행하던 많은 사람이 그 책을 모아 가지고 와서 모든 사람앞에서

불사르니 그 책값을 계산한즉 은 오만이나 되더라 (19절)

 

수 천 권의 귀신을 쫓아내는 법, 마술, 신비과학, 마법에 관한 책들이

잿더미가 되었습니다! 그리고 이것은 에베소 사람들이 "완전히 선포된" 복음을

표적과 기사와 능력의 행사와 함께 접했기 때문에 일어났습니다.

 

 

◑3. 하나님은 마지막 시대의 교회가, 설교와 교육 이상의 것들을 하도록

계획하고 계십니다.

 

나는 복음이 능력과 성령의 나타내심 -능력의 기사를 행하고 복음이 사실이라는 것

을 증명하는 것- 이 병행되지 않는다면 완전히 선포될 수 없다고 믿습니다.

 

▲바울은 대담하게 증언했습니다.

내 말과 내 전도함이 지혜의 권하는 말로 하지 아니하고

다만 성령의 나타남과 능력으로 하여.. 고전2:4

 

희랍어로는 여기에 "증거를 가지고"라는 뜻이 있습니다.

바울은 "나는 증거를 가지고 복음을 전합니다.

하나님과 성령은 기사를 통해 나를 도우십니다"라고 이야기하고 있는 것입니다.

 

정말로 히브리서 2:4절에 따르면

하나님은 바울의 메시지를 표적과 기사로 확인시켜 주셨습니다.

하나님도 표적들과 기사들과 여러 가지 능력과 및 자기 뜻을 따라

성령의 나눠주신 것으로써 저희와 함께 증거하셨느니라. 히2:4

 

▲신약의 성도들은 한가지만을 위해 기도했습니다.

"표적과 기사가 거룩한 종 예수의 이름으로 이루어지게 하옵소서" 행4:30

 

이 사도들은 완전한 복음을 전파하며 어디든 갔습니다.

"사도들로 인하여 기사와 표적이 많이 일어나니" 행2:43.

"사도들의 손으로 민간에 표적과 기사가 많이 되매 믿는 사람이 다 마음을 같이하여

   솔로몬 행각에 모이고" 행5:12

"예루살렘 근읍 허다한 사람들도 모여 병든 사람과 더러운 귀신에게

   괴로움 받는 사람을 데리고 와서 다 나음을 얻으니라." 5:16

 

▲마지막으로, 완전히 선포된 복음을 증명하기 위해서는

표적과 기사가 포함되어야 한다는 가장 결론적인 구절의 말씀이 여기 있습니다.

 

두 사도가 오래 있어 주를 힘입어 담대히 말하니 주께서 저희 손으로

표적과 기사를 행하게 하여주사 자기 은혜의 말씀을 증거하시나니.. 행14:3)

 

이 구절은 사도들이 오랫동안 담대히 섬기며 은혜와 회개에 대해 선포했다고 말하고 있습니다.

그리고 그때 하나님은 표적과 기사가 그들의 손으로 행해지도록 하셨습니다!

 

▲그런데 반대로 오늘날의 교회는 약하고 비효율적이 되어버렸습니다. 왜 그렇습니까?

교회가 더 이상 초자연적인 것을 믿지 않기 때문입니다!

신학자들은 우리에게 어떤 순간부터, 하나님께서 능력의 행사를 행하시기를

그만두셨다고 가르칩니다. (소위 은사중지설입니다.)

그러나 정확하게 언제 이런 초자연적인 활동이 멈췄는지 아무도 이야기 할 수 없습니다!

 

어떤 사람들은 바울이 죽었을 때 기적이 멈추었다고 주장합니다.

어떤 사람들은 기적이 멈춘 것이 약 AD 150년 경이라고 이야기합니다.

 

그러나 여러분에게 질문하겠습니다.

과연 누가 하나님께서 "이만하면 됐다!

나는 지난 수 천 년 동안 표적과 기사를 믿는 자들을 위해 행했다.

그러나 지금 너희들은 완성된 성경을 갖고 있고 더 지혜롭다.

그래서 나는 그것을 중단하겠다. 더 이상 기적, 표적, 치유는 없다!"라고

말씀하신 날이나 주간이나 달이나 해를 감히 찝어낼 수 있겠습니까.

 

여러분 속지 마십시오 이 모든 것들 뒤에는 놀라운 속임수가 있습니다.

바울은 마지막 시대에는 사탄이 "모든 능력과 표적과 거짓 기사를 가지고" 등장할

것이라고 우리에게 이야기하고 있습니다.(살후2:9)

 

▲예수님은 말씀하셨습니다.

거짓 그리스도인과 거짓 선지자들이 일어나서 이적과 기사를 행하여

할 수만 있으면 택하신 백성을 미혹케 하려 하리라. 막13:22

 

생각해 보십시오. 사단, 거짓 그리스도인, 거짓 선지자, 모두가

자신의 메시지를 거짓 표적과 기사를 가지고 확인하려 합니다!

 

그러나 하나님께서는, 그분의 교회를, 그런 강력한 표적을 행하는 사단에게 노출시키시고

강력한 무기나 초자연적인 역사없이 우리를 내버려 두실것이라고 믿어야 되겠습니까?

 

하나님께서 "사단은 표적과 기사를 행하나 하나님은 할 수 없으시다"라고 이야기하는

교회를 가지시겠습니까? 결코 그렇지 않습니다!

그것은 절대로 생각할 수조차 없는 일입니다.

 

도리어 성경은 하나님의 거룩한 남은 교회가

...두루 나가 전파할쌔 주께서 함께 역사하사 그 따르는 표적으로

말씀을 확실히 증거하시니라. 막16:20

※“따르는 표적”입니다. 표적이 자연스럽게 동반되는 것입니다.

 

"하지만 사단의 무리들 가운데 있는 모든 거짓 표적과 기사는 어떻게 합니까?"

라고 물을 지도 모르겠습니다.

 

모세의 막대기가 바로의 뱀을 삼킨 것처럼

하나님의 역사는 이 마지막 시대에 모든 사단의 악한 역사를 삼켜버릴 것이라고

나는 대답할 것입니다.

 

사단의 업적은 하나님의 믿을 수 없는 표적과 기사에 비하면

아무 것도 아닌 것으로 드러날 것입니다!

 

▲이 마지막 시대의 교회의 기사는 진짜이며, 진실되고, 논란의 여지가 없으며,

부인할 수 없을 것입니다. 그리고 그것들은 잘 알려지지 않을 것입니다.

대신에 그 기사는 하나님을 알고 예수님과 친밀한 관계에 있는 평범한, 거룩한,

구별된 성도의 손으로부터 뿜어나올 것입니다.

 

이 성도들은 은밀한 자기 기도의 골방에서 나타날 것입니다.

이들은 작지만 준비된 군대로서 믿음으로 가득차고

하나님의 뜻을 행하고 그를 영화롭게 하는 것 외에는 아무 열망이 없을 것입니다.

 

팡파레가 없이도 그들은 병원으로 가정으로 길가로 나갈 것입니다.

그리고 병자의 손에 손을 얹고 놀라운 치유의 기적을 보게될 것입니다.

 

그들은 사단을 두려워하지 않을 것이며 지위나 권세를 던져버릴 것입니다.

그들의 기도는 너무나 강력해서 그들의 기도는 복음을 위하여 전세계를 열어놓을 것입니다.

그리고 하나님은 당신의 말씀을 그들의 능력의 역사로 확인하실 것입니다!

 

 

◑4, 이 마지막시대의 남은 교회는 떡으로만 살기를 거부하는 그리스도인들로

구성될 것입니다.

 

여러분이 자신이 하나님이 쓰시기에는 너무나 평범하다고 생각한다면 주의 깊게 들으십시오.

하나님은 그의 마지막 시대의 사역을 이름있는 전도사나 목사를 통해 하시지 않을 것입니다.

그들만으로는 하나님의 영의 거대한 움직임을 다룰 수 없을 것입니다!

 

사실 하나님은 주부, 십대, 나이 든 사람 그리고 하나님이 당신의 역사를 행하시는 것을

사모하는 모든 사람들을 필요로 하실 것입니다.

 

▲이 마지막 시대의 군대는, 떡으로만 사는 습관을 뗀 그리스도인들로 구성될 것입니다.

무슨 뜻인지 설명하겠습니다.

하나님께서 모세를 통하여 말씀하셨습니다.

 

....사람이 떡으로만 사는 것이 아니요 여호와의 입에서 나오는 모든 말씀으로 사는 줄을

   너로 알게 하려 하심이니라 (신명기 8:3)

 

예수님은 사단이 광야에서 돌을 떡으로 바꾸어 보라고 시험했을 때

이 말씀을 인용하셨습니다.

떡은 목숨을 유지하기 위한 모든 자연적인 물질적인 것들을 상징합니다.

▲그러나 수많은 그리스도인들이 이것들만을 위해서 인생을 살아갑니다!

그들의 삶은 직업, 집, 지불해야 할 돈으로 싸여있습니다.

 

그리고 모든 기도는 자기들의 필요, 자신들의 상처, 자신의 문제,

자신이 원하는 것에 초점이 맞추어져 있습니다. 그들은 떡으로만 살고있습니다!

 

물론 직업을 가지고 가족을 부양하는 것은 명예로운 것입니다.

그것은 하나님의 말씀에 순종하고 그분의 입에서 나오는 모든 말씀으로 사는 것의 한 부분입니다.

 

그러나 어떤 그리스도인들은 이 떡의 수준을 넘지 못합니다.

그들은 일생의 시간을 그저 생존하는 데에만, 즉 먹고 사는 데에만 사용합니다!

 

예를 들겠습니다. 얼마나 많은 젊은 그리스도인들이

배우자를 찾는 것만을 생각하며 모든 시간을 허비합니까?

그들의 기도중 얼마가 하나님께 자신의 외로움을 채워달라고 요청하는데

초점이 맞추어져 있습니까! 그들은 떡으로만 사는 사람입니다.

 

얼마나 많은 부부가 자기 자녀의 문제를 가지고 모든 시간을 허비하고 있습니까?

이 한가지의 문제가 그들의 모든 생각과 모든 기도를 삼켜버립니다.

그들은 한 가지 필요, 즉 빵에만 초점을 맞추고 있습니다.

 

예수님은 우리에게 "일용할 양식을 주옵시고"(마6:11)라고 기도하라고 가르치셨습니다.

그러나 첫 번째로 "나라이 임하옵시며 뜻이 이루어지이다"(10절)라고 기도하라고 말씀하셨습니다.

 

우리는 첫 번째로 하나님의 관심사에 초점을 맞추어야 합니다.

그분의 뜻이 이루어지기를 위해 기도하는 것 말입니다!

 

지난 6개월동안 가장 많이 생각해온 것이 무엇이었습니까?

무엇이 여러분의 시간과 기도의 대부분을 차지했습니까?

주로 떡의 문제나 개인적인 필요였습니까?

 

떡에만 초점을 맞춘다면 여러분에게 생명은 없습니다! 여러분은 이스라엘의 후손들이 그랬던 것처럼 광야에서 살고있는 것입니다. 그들은 매일 일어나서 떡을 달라고 소리쳤습니다. 그러나 하나님께서 떡을 주시자 그들은 고기를 달라고 소리쳤습니다. 그들은 계속해서 개인적인 필요를 채워달라고 외쳤습니다. 40년 동안 매일 그러했습니다!

친애하는 여러분, 그것은 지루함, 고역입니다! 하나님은 자신의 자녀를 위해서 그런 것을 의도하지 않으셨습니다. 대신에 그분은 모세를 통하여 이스라엘에게 말씀하셨습니다. "너희는 내 입에서 나오는 모든 말로 살아야 한다! 나는 네게 떡을 주겠다고 말했다. 그러나 거기에서 멈추지 말아라. 계속 나아가라! 내가 네게 말하였다. 그곳에는 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅, 강과 나무와 숲과 초원이 있는 땅이 있다. 그리고 나는 그땅이 너희의 것이 되기를 원한다!"

만약 여러분의 전생애가 생존하는데만 초점이 맞추어져 있다면, 예수님에게 사로잡혀 그의 말씀안에 자라며 당신의 마음을 신랑을 위해 꾸며진 신부로서 준비시키고 있지 않다면 여러분에게는 생명이 없습니다! 여러분은 지루하며 아무 것도 성취하지 못한 것입니다! 여러분은 교회에 와서 생명의 일부분을 이곳 저곳에서 맛볼 수 는 있을 것입니다. 그러나 여러분은 생명을 주고 있지는 않습니다!

바로 지금 하나님은 떡의 문제에만 초점을 맞추고 있지 않은 사람들을 기르고 계십니다. 대신에 그들은 밤 12시에도 하나님의 뜻에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 그들은 단순한 생존의 광야에서 살아가는데 지쳤습니다. 그들이 원하는 것은 하나님의 뜻을 알고 행하는 것입니다. 그들은 떡으로만 살아가는 젖을 뗀 평범한 그리스도인들입니다. 그들이 받는 훈련은 성령으로부터 와서 비밀스런 기도의 골방에서 이루어집니다!

하나님의 군대는 자신을 끊임없이 준비된 상태에 있도록 준비하는데 부르심을 받고 있습니다.

이 마지막 시대의 군대의 모든 구성원은 반드시 중심이 준비되어 있어야 합니다. 왜냐하면 하나님께서 거대한 마지막 부으심을 행할 자세를 취하고 계시기 때문입니다!

예수님이 오시기 전에 세례요한은 "주를 위하여 준비된(prepared) 백성을 준비시키기(make ready) 위해" 나갔습니다. 이것은 회개의 선포, 자신의 마음을 준비시키라는 백성들에 대한 부르심이었습니다.

바울은 또한 "모든 선한 일에 예비함이 되는" 것에 대해 이야기했습니다.(디모데후서 2:21) 그리고 사무엘은 이스라엘에게 "너희 마음을 여호와께로 향하여(prepare)그만 섬기면" 하나님께서 그들을 위해 새로운 일을 하실 것이라고 이야기했습니다.(사무엘상 7:3) 또한 다윗은 "여호와여 주는 겸손한 자의 소원을 들으셨으니 저희 마음을 예비하시며 귀를 기울여 들으시고"라고 말했습니다.(시편 10:17)

이 마지막 구절에서 다윗은 여러분을 위한 하나님의 생각과 의지를 알기 위한 간단한 3단계의 계획의 틀을 제시했습니다.

하나님께 청원함(기도함)

하나님의 음성을 듣기위해 마음을 준비함

하나님은 여러분이 알도록 하실 것입니다. 성령이 여러분에게 말씀하실 것입니다!

곧 하나님은 세계가 지금까지 보지 못한 가장 많은 성령을 그분의 영광스러운 잔에서 부어주실 것입니다. 커다란 회개가 여러분의 이웃과 직장동료와 구원받지 못한 가족들 가운데 일어날 것입니다. 성령께서 죄와 의와 심판을 깨닫게 할 것입니다!

사람들이 어느곳에서든지 상처를 받을 것입니다. 그리고 그들은 죽은 교회에서 돌아서 하나님과 동행하는 사람들을 찾을 것입니다. 그들은 준비된 마음을 갖고있는 사람을 필사적으로 찾을 것입니다!

친애하는 여러분, 여러분은 하나님이 부르시는 사람들 중의 한 사람입니다! 하나님은 수만명의 평범한 종들을 그분의 마지막 시대의 사람 대 사람의 사역에 사용하실 것입니다. 그래서 여러분에게 묻겠습니다. 여러분은 여러분안에서, 여러분을 통해서 지금 그분의 역사가 이루어지도록 여러분의 마음을 준비하고 있습니까? 아니면 광야의 생활을 인내하면서 그냥 앉아계십니까?

오늘 하나님께 고백하십시오. "오 하나님 제 인생이 가치가 있기를 원합니다! 저는 지금 절망의 광야에서 떡으로만 살아가고 있음을 알고 있습니다. 그러나 저는 살고 싶습니다!"

주님의 말씀에 빠지십시오. 매일 주님을 찾기를 배우십시오. 여러분의 마음을 준비시키는데는 혁명적인 힘이 있습니다! 여러분의 삶에 의미와 완전함이 있게 되는 것은 이러한 준비를 통해서입니다. 그것은 여러분의 감정과 성품을 변화시키고 여러분안에 있는 능력이 드러날 것입니다!

하나님께서 여러분이 준비된 것을 보시면 그분의 사역을 하기 위한 놀라운 기회를 주실 것입니다. 그 일을 하기 위해 집을 떠날 필요도 없을 것입니다. 하나님은 여러분의 문앞에 여러분이 필요로 하는 것들을 가져다 주실 것입니다!

그러나 조심하십시오.

여러분이 하나님을 찾지 않으면 여러분은 악으로 치닫게 될 것이라고 성경은 말하고 있습니다.

 

• 르호보암이 마음을 오로지하여(not prepared his heart) 여호와를 구하지 아니함으로 악을 행하였더라 (역대하 12:14)

우리는 이시간에도 능력의 역사를 위하여 자기 백성을 준비시키시는 권능의 하나님을 섬기는 것입니다.

 

• 여호와께서 용사같이 나가시며 전사같이 분발하여 외쳐 크게 부르시며 그 대적을 크게 치시리로다 (이사야 42:13)

그러므로 주님을 만나기 위해 여러분의 마음을 준비시키십시오. 하나님의 위대한 마지막 시대의 부으심을 위해 무장되고 준비된 종이 되십시오. 그러면 이 마지막 시간에 주님의 영광이 여러분안에 살아오시는 것을 보게될 것입니다.

 

God's Vision For the Last-Day Church!

I want to share with you what I believe is God's vision for His last-day church. It is a vision based on the revealed Word of God -- because the Bible clearly outlines what the church of Jesus Christ will be like just prior to His coming.

Certainly, the church in America is far from what God has envisioned it to be. In fact, most of what we see going on today in the name of Christ is an abomination. Yet, there are remnant churches scattered throughout this nation and around the world that live up to God's holy standards. They lead holy lives, preach righteousness, believe in super natural works. These churches are alive, full of the Spirit of God, and are impacting lives and entire communities for Jesus.

But, for the most part, entire denominations today operate without the Holy Spirit. They are devoid of the presence of Jesus, bankrupt of all spiritual gifts. They practice a form of religion without any power, conviction or saving message. They are cozy with the world and are more political than spiritual. They appease sin -- coddling homosexuals, winking at divorce, ridiculing the supernatural, tossing aside all teachings about heaven, hell, repentance and judgment.

Such churches wonder if God is even alive. They are so cold, weak and timid, the world scoffs at them! They have no influence, no respect, no impact on society whatsoever.

But the New Testament church made devils tremble! It drove legions of demons into the abyss, prayed prison doors open, made rulers cringe in fear. No weapon could prosper against it! Those early believers had such faith and power that cripples rose up leaping, beggars became evangelists. They believed in the supernatural -- and they opened blind eyes, unstopped deaf ears and healed all manner of diseases. They even raised the dead!

I am not saying God's last-day church will be a repeat or copy of the first- century church. No -- I am saying it will be even greater than that! It will be mightier, stronger, with an even greater revelation of Jesus. It will have a greater unction from the Spirit than ever -- greater even than at Pentecost! God always saves His best wine for last!

The prophet Daniel confirms this. He said certain prophetic truths were locked up, only to be revealed in the last days:

"...for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end....and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand" (Daniel 12:9-10).

God's people are going to begin to understand "new things in his Word!" These things are already in the Bible; they simply haven't been revealed in fullness. And Daniel said he saw these things but couldn't understand them, even with all his divine wisdom: "And I heard, but I understood not..." (verse 8).

But today the Holy Spirit has revealed these things to spiritual, discerning saints!

"...as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God" (1 Corinthians 2:9-10).

The Holy Ghost abides in us to reveal these hidden things to us!

Right now the Lord is preparing a powerful yet humble army of shepherds after His own heart. And He also is preparing a remnant congregation of hungry sheep who have turned away from the deadness and sin of the modern church establishment. The scene is being set for that church against which the gates of hell shall not prevail. It will be hot, not lukewarm -- and it will rock the very foundations of hell. No power on earth will be able to ignore or despise it!

Here is what I see in the Scriptures as God's vision for this last-day remnant church:

1. once Again the Gospel Is
Going to Be "Fully Preached"!

You may not want to accept my next statement. But, as I see it, the gospel of Jesus Christ has not been "fully preached" in this generation! Except for the ministries of a few righteous men and women of God, the gospel we hear today is not what Paul said is a gospel "fully preached."

Paul could say to his generation: "...I have fully preached the gospel of Christ" (Romans 15:19). And he described this "fully preached" gospel as one that is much more than words. It is a gospel of words and deed!

"For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient in word and deed..." (verse 18).

Paul was saying, "The Gentiles turned to Christ not because of my preaching alone -- but because my words were accompanied by miraculous deeds!"

"Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ" (verse 19).

If Paul had preached and taught without signs and wonders following, his message would not have had its full impact. It would not have been the gospel fully preached! He said to the Corinthians, "Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds" (2 Corinthians 12:12).

Note Paul's words in this verse: signs, wonders, mighty deeds. Most Christians today cringe when they hear them! Why? It is because these words have been made an abomination by unscrupulous, power-hungry preachers and teachers!

For the past forty years we have witnessed a grievous perversion of the fully preached gospel. Many intelligent, Christ-loving believers have been shocked or chagrined by the mockery and misuse of super natural workings by impostors who have set themselves up as figures of faith and power. These liars have turned the fully preached gospel into acts of pride and personal gain.

You see them being blasted on television and in newspapers. You see hucksterism, theatrics, phony healings, unsubstantiated claims, money-grabbing, exaggerations -- all so abominable in God's eyes. It has been one of the most shameful episodes in the history of the church!

Yet, as if these perversions weren't enough, along came the "prosperity gospel," which added to the perversion. Basically, accepting Christ meant "winning the lottery"! It meant having the promise of wealth -- cars, clothes, houses, land. Whatever a believer "spoke into existence" was to become reality in his life. Even worse, this gospel portrayed Jesus as some wine-guzzling sports fanatic who loves to dote on His "kids"!

The biggest tragedy of all is that these very perversions have caused many God-fearing pastors, evangelists and laypeople to turn away from the truth of a fully preached gospel. They want nothing to do with signs, wonders or miracles.

Yet, beloved, God is still God -- and He is mighty in working miracles and wonders! He is still our healer -- and He wants to show Himself strong on behalf of those who trust in Him! Great supernatural workings took place in the New Testament church without any perversions -- without advertising, showmanship, or any person claiming all the power and authority. The ministry of Paul provides an example:

At Troas, Paul preached such a long message, a young man named Eutychus fell asleep while sitting on a window sill. The boy fell three stories to the ground -- and the Bible says Eutychus "was taken up dead" (see Acts 20:5-12).

When Paul arrived on the scene below, he quieted everyone. Then he did as Elijah had done: He stretched himself out over the dead lad. Suddenly, life came back into Eutychus. The boy had resurrected -- raised from the dead! What a mighty miracle!

Now, after this happened, Paul didn't send everyone out to spread the news that a miracle had taken place. He didn't invite Eutychus to accompany him on his evangelistic journeys and testify of his resurrection. There were no pamphlets urging, "See the boy who fell from a building and died. God raised him from the dead! Hear the preaching of Paul, man of great faith and power!"

No -- that wasn't what happened at all. Instead, everyone simply went back to the third floor, had communion, and Paul continued preaching. Scripture does not even mention Eutychus any further. Why? Because the church expected supernatural works to happen! They preached a full gospel -- with signs and wonders following!

These Mighty Deeds Happened
Daily Among The Saints --
and No Person Got the Glory!

These great deeds were called "special miracles":

"And God wrought special miracles by the hand of Paul: so that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them" (Acts 19:11-12).

How can a handkerchief or apron get any glory? Paul sent the believers out with such items, and they in turn told others: "The saints have prayed over this garment. If you'll believe God and place it on you, He will heal you." When the people laid these articles on their foreheads, limbs or bodies, they quickly got up from their bed or their begging mat. They were healed!

These "special miracles" became an expected part of the believers' daily lives and worship. They didn't have to attend some huge meeting with fanfare to see them take place. No -- they saw these mighty deeds as a part of their everyday walk with the Lord!

Here is my point: If preaching alone could accomplish God's desires, America would have been won to Christ long ago. Consider what happened in Ephesus, after three months of bold preaching:

"...(certain) were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude..." (verse 9).

Ephesus was a godless, idolatrous city given over to the occult. The population was obsessed with occult books and practices, magic, witchcraft. And after three months of bold preaching by Paul, the people only grew harder.

But then God began to perform special miracles through Paul's hands. Suddenly, the sick were being healed, the lame were given healthy limbs, the blind had their sight restored!

That's when the demonic powers of Ephesus began to get riled up. Seven sons of a priest named Sceva went to a certain man's house to try to cast demons out of him "in the name of the Jesus preached by Paul." But the legion inside this man turned on the seven and attacked them, tearing their clothes and beating them wildly. They ran out for their lives, naked and screaming!

Word spread throughout the whole city: "...and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified" (verse 17). People exclaimed, "These followers of Jesus have authority over demon powers!"

So Paul held a bonfire on the city square:

"Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver" (verse 19).

Thousands of books on exorcism, magic, occult sciences, charms, witchcraft -- all went up in flames! And it happened because the people of Ephesus had been confronted with a gospel "fully preached" -- with signs, wonders and mighty deeds!

God Envisions a Last-Day Church
That Does More Than Preach and Teach!

---

I believe the gospel can't be fully preached unless it is accompanied by the power and demonstration of the holy Ghost -- working mighty wonders, proving the gospel is true!

Paul boldly stated, "And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power" (1 Corinthians 2:4).

The Greek here means, "with proof." Paul was saying, "I preach the gospel with proof. God and the Holy Spirit are backing me up with wonders!"

Indeed, Hebrews 2:4 says God confirmed Paul's message with signs and wonders: "God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to His own will."

The New Testament believers had one prayer: "that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus" (Acts 4:30). These apostles went everywhere fully preaching the gospel:

"...and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles" (Acts 2:43). "And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people...And believers were the more added to the Lord" (5:12). "There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one" (verse 16).

Finally, here is one of the most conclusive of all verses -- proving that a fully preached gospel must include signs and wonders:

"Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands" (Acts 14:3).

This verse says the apostles ministered boldly for a long time, preaching grace and repentance -- and then God granted "signs and wonders to be done by their hands"!

In contrast, the church today has become weak and ineffective. Why? Because it no longer believes in the supernatural! Theologians tell us that at some point God quit performing mighty deeds. Yet, exactly when all of this supernatural activity stopped, no one can say!

Some claim that miracles ceased when Paul died. Others say it was about A.D. 150. But, I ask you: Who has the audacity to pick the day, week, month or year when God supposedly said, "Enough! For thousands of years I've performed signs, wonders and miracles for those who have believed. But now you have a completed Bible and are more intelligent. So I'm cutting you off! No more miracles -- no more signs or healings!"

Beloved, don't be fooled! There is a great deception behind all of this.

You see, Paul tells us that in the last days Satan will come forth "with all power and signs and lying wonders" (2 Thessalonians 2:9). Jesus Himself said, "For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect" (Mark 13:22).

Think of it: Demons, false Christs, false prophets -- all seeking to confirm their message with lying signs and wonders! Yet, am I supposed to believe that God will expose His church to such a powerful, wonder-working devil -- but leave us with no mighty weapons or supernatural workings of our own? Will He have a church that says, "Satan can work signs and wonders, but God cannot?" Never! That is absolutely unthinkable!

Rather, the Bible says God's holy remnant church will go "forth and (preach) every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following" (Mark 16:20).

That is what God envisions for us!

You ask, "But what about all the lying signs and wonders among Satan's hordes?"

I tell you, just as Moses' reed swallowed up Pharaoh's snakes, God's mighty deeds in these last days will swallow up all the devil's dark deeds. Satan's works will appear as nothing compared to God's incredible signs and wonders!

The miracles of this last-day church will be genuine, real, undisputable, undeniable -- and yet they will not be well-known. Instead, they will issue forth from the hands of ordinary, holy, separated saints who know God and are intimate with Jesus.

These believers will emerge from the secret closet of prayer -- a small, prepared army full of faith, with no other desire than to do the will of God and glorify Him. Without fanfare they will go into hospitals, homes, the streets, and will lay hands on the sick and see incredible miracles of healing. They will be fearless against demons, casting down great principalities and powers. They will be so powerful in prayer, they'll open entire nations for the gospel. And God will confirm His Word by their mighty deeds!"

2. This Last-Day Remnant Church
Will Be Comprised of Christians
Who Refuse to Live by Bread Alone!

If you think you're too ordinary for God to use, listen closely: God is not going to do His last-day work through big-name evangelists or pastors. They alone won't be able to handle the great moving of His Spirit! The fact is, God is going to need every housewife, teenager, elderly person and all who love Him to carry out His mighty work!

This last-day army is going to be made up of Christians who have been weaned from bread alone. Let me explain what I mean:

God said through Moses:

"...man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live" (Deuteronomy 8:3).

Jesus Himself quoted this verse when Satan tempted Him in the wilderness to turn stones into bread.

Bread stands for all natural, material things necessary for this life. These include food, shelter, clothes, labor, wages. Bread represents livelihood -- those earthly things we need that are not evil in themselves.

Now, the Lord knows we need all of these things. But multitudes of Christians live only for the things of this life! Their lives are wrapped up in their job, their house, paying the bills. And all their prayers are focused only on their needs -- their hurts, their problems, their desires. They live on bread alone!

Of course, it is honorable to have a job and to provide for your family. That's all a part of obeying the Word of God and living by every word that proceeds out of His mouth. But some Christians never get beyond bread. They spend a lifetime just surviving!

For example -- how many Christian young men and women spend all of their time thinking about their need for a mate? How much of their prayers is focused on asking God to fulfill their loneliness! They are living on bread alone.

How many married couples spend all of their time focused on trials and troubles with their children? This one matter consumes all their thoughts, all their prayers. They are focused on one need -- on bread!

Jesus did teach us to pray, "Give us this day our daily bread" (Matthew 6:11). But first He said we were to pray, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done..." (verse 10). We are to focus first on God's interests -- to pray for His will to be done!

What have you been thinking about more than anything else these past six months? What has consumed most of your time and prayers? Has it been mostly bread issues -- personal needs?

If you focus only on bread, then you have no life! You're living in a wilderness, as the children of Israel did. Each day they arose and began crying for bread. Yet, after God gave it to them, they cried for meat. They continually cried out for their personal needs to be met -- every day for forty years!

Beloved, that is boredom -- drudgery! God never intended that for His children. Instead, He told Israel through Moses, "You should be living by every word that proceeds out of My mouth! Yes, I told you I would give you bread. But don't stop there. Move on! I've told you there's a land ahead flowing with milk and honey, with rivers, trees, forests, green pastures. And I want that place for you!"

If your whole life is centered on survival -- if you're not shut in with Jesus, growing in His Word, preparing your heart as a bride adorned for her Husband -- then you have no life at all! You're bored, unfulfilled! You may come to church and receive a little bit of life here and there. But you are not giving life!

Right now God is raising up a people who are not focused on bread issues. Instead, they are focused on His will for this midnight hour! They are tired of living in a wilderness of mere survival. All they want is to know and do God's will. They are ordinary people who have been weaned from living on bread alone. Their training has come from the Holy Ghost -- in the secret closet of prayer!

Every member of this last-day army must be ready and prepared in heart -- because God is poised to release His great, final outpouring!

Before Jesus came, John the Baptist went forth "to make ready a people prepared for the Lord" (Luke 1:17). This was a preaching of repentance -- a call to people to prepare their hearts.

Paul also spoke of being "prepared unto every good work" (2 Timothy 2:21). And Samuel told Israel that God would do a new thing for them, if they would "prepare (their) hearts unto the Lord, and serve Him only" (1 Samuel 7:3). Also, David said, "Lord, thou hast heard the desire [petition] of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear" (Psalm 10:17).

In this last verse, David outlines a simple, three-step plan for knowing the Lord's mind and will for your life:

1. Petition Him (pray).

2. Prepare your heart to hear His voice.

3. He will cause you to know. The Spirit will speak to you!

Very soon, God is going to pour out of His glorious cup the greatest measure of His Spirit the world has ever seen. Great conviction will come upon your neighbors, coworkers and unsaved family members. The Holy Ghost is going to convict of sin, righteousness and judgment!

People everywhere are going to be hurting. And they're going to turn from their dead churches to seek out those who walk with God. They will be desperate to find someone whose heart has been prepared!

Beloved, you are one of those whom God is calling! He is going to use hundreds of thousands of ordinary servants for His end-time work of people-to-people ministry. So, I ask you: Are you preparing your heart right now for His work to be done, both in you and through you? Or are you just sitting by, enduring a wilderness life?

Confess to God today: "Oh, Lord -- I want my life to count! I know that right now I'm living in a wilderness of despair, on bread alone. But I want to live!"

Dive into His Word. Learn to seek Him daily. There is revolutionary power in the preparation of your heart! It is through this preparation that meaning and fullness come to your life. It changes your feelings, your personality -- and it releases power in you!

When God sees you are ready, He will bring to you great opportunities to do His work. You won't even have to leave your house. God will bring the needs right to your door!

But be warned: If you don't begin to seek Him, the Bible says, you will turn to evil. "And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord" (2 Chronicles 12:14).

We serve a mighty God who at this very hour is preparing His people for a mighty work:

"The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies" (Isaiah 42:13).

So prepare your heart to meet Him. Become a ready servant, equipped and prepared for his great, last-day outpouring. And you will see His glory come alive in you in this final hour!
